I had a chance recently to link up with Dimitri Williams of Dimitri Williams Photography for a photo shoot we call "Southern Gentlemen in The City". We wanted to bring a fresh and unique look to some really unexpected locations in Raleigh. Tell me what you think of about the looks on Andre Smith, Darreill Ruffin and on me as we bring a dapper and swanky vibe to an industrial area of downtown Raleigh. Lastly, I want to give a big S/O to CAM Raleigh for allowing us to take over their beautiful space for some of the shots.

 

The Relaunch- Sir Byron Laurent Lifestyle and Fashion Blog

I am excited to announce the official relaunch of my blog! Not only have I revamped the entire look and feel of the site I decided to make the addition of a lifestyle portion to the blog. I will share more things about my life and some of my thoughts that I wanted to share with all of you. I will still continue to share my "Southern Gentleman Style" with you along with all of the great product reviews you have come to enjoy reading about! So let's get started and please share the new blog with everyone you know!

The Knit Tie and Vintage Hounds-tooth Suit

It is no secret that I love a vintage suit. It's just something about them that can create such a unique look. I found this vintage hounds-tooth suit at a thrift store and it was pretty dated with wide, bell-bottom trousers and the jacket was a little large in the torso area. So what did I do? I dropped it off at my local tailors and they were able to convert the trousers to straight leg and they took the suit in on the sides and back. #WIWT Thrifted, Paisley and Blue

For my #OOTD I took a more causal approach with my look (causal for me anyways). One thing I really like is that it is comfortable and stylish at the same time. And of course this is almost all entirely thrifted! Check out the details below.

You can easily pair jeans with a blazer just as long as you remember to wear a tailored jean. It gives more of a polished look along with being causal.

This blue wool blazer is very comfortable and is one of my thrifted finds from Ralph Lauren. The paisley shirt is also a thrifted find from Express. The lapel pin is handmade by myself :-)!

The shoes are not thrifted but still one of my favorites. The are blue paisley slippers from Ted Baker that I picked up from Nordstrom. The grey Levi's are from Macy's.

Remember that you can always dress down your dapper look by switching out traditional trousers with tailored jeans and switch out your dress shirt with a fun patterned dress shirt.

Thrifty, Vintage and Dapper

Last week I had the honor to speak with the youth at Hope Community Church with my awesome blogging friend Yolande (@thelanguageofyolande) of the Language of Yolande about style and thrift shopping and figured why not throw together an entirely thrifted outfit. The blue wool pinstripe suit I found at Father and Son Consignment last year.

The shoes are Donald J Pliner loafers I found at a Goodwill.

The tie is Polo Ralph Lauren and it has the signature horse on a red back ground also picked up from Goodwill.

The shirt is from Brooks Brothers also found a local Goodwill.

Everything Weddings And More: Derby Vineyard Styled Shoot by In His Image Photog...

Southern Gentleman Style at its BEST!! I had the opportunity to style the men of this photo shoot for a Kentucky Derby style wedding theme. Outside of being a little hot (ok, very hot), it's was a great time!!
