Mixology: Tweed, Gingham, Paisley and Windowpane

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Houston, TX for work and I had one day where I needed to wear more of a busy causal look. I decided to put this look together combining different patterns and textures to create this unique fit. I wanted to share the details of the look with all of you to show and encourage you to venture out to combine unlikely elements to create a "style mixology"! Comment below and tell me what you think!

The Knit Tie and Vintage Hounds-tooth Suit

Thursday, April 16, 2015

It is no secret that I love a vintage suit. It's just something about them that can create such a unique look. I found this vintage hounds-tooth suit at a thrift store and it was pretty dated with wide, bell-bottom trousers and the jacket was a little large in the torso area. So what did I do? I dropped it off at my local tailors and they were able to convert the trousers to straight leg and they took the suit in on the sides and back. I also paired the suit with an awesome knit tie from Tie The Knit. Check out the entire look below and big S/O to Tie The Knit for sending such an awesome knit tie! Make sure you check out their site and use promo code "SirByronLaurent" to get 15% off your purchase by clicking the links above.

P.S. Say hello to my son Lawrence Jr. or as we like to call him "Lil Sir".

Rainy Day Gear

Friday, January 23, 2015

Ok, today is just a downright wet and rainy day in North Carolina and this can make it a little more difficult to be stylish and dry at the same time! Here are a few things every guy should have to make their day a little less damp on a day like this!

#WIWT Thrifted, Paisley and Blue

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

For my #OOTD I took a more causal approach with my look (causal for me anyways). One thing I really like is that it is comfortable and stylish at the same time. And of course this is almost all entirely thrifted! Check out the details below.

You can easily pair jeans with a blazer just as long as you remember to wear a tailored jean. It gives more of a polished look along with being causal.

This blue wool blazer is very comfortable and is one of my thrifted finds from Ralph Lauren. The paisley shirt is also a thrifted find from Express. The lapel pin is handmade by myself :-)!

The shoes are not thrifted but still one of my favorites. The are blue paisley slippers from Ted Baker that I picked up from Nordstrom. The grey Levi's are from Macy's.

Remember that you can always dress down your dapper look by switching out traditional trousers with tailored jeans and switch out your dress shirt with a fun patterned dress shirt.

I look to add more #OOTD onto the blog in the future so please stay connected!
